Currently, I’m under the tutelage of the Center for Global Action, and have been for the past 8 months. It’s hard to describe the past 8 months except that they have been hard won, and difficult to move through. When God called me to this program back in August/September of 2016 I was frazzled, and didn’t quite know what to do with the calling. I had no idea what God was doing in my life, but now I have a few answers, even if they may seem vague.
Last week, during a time that one of our leaders had carved out for listening to God we were asked to ask God why He had placed us in CGA. God told me that He moved me here so that I could know His love, and that is an interesting thing to think about considering all that has happened over the course of CGA. CGA’s program and curriculum seemed to me like it would be easy and even lighthearted, however I have found it to be harder than serving abroad in third world countries living out of a tent. Here we grapple with the depth of who we are and who God is, but I never imagined it would be so painful to move close to God.
Yet, God is worth it, and He has changed me significantly. Fear is being destroyed in my life, and Righteousness, is being distilled in a slow, satisfying rate.
God is worth the pain.
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4
We haven’t arrived at perfection and we still have a long way to go in our sanctification.
Please be praying for my team and I as we have already begun our capstone trip across the east coast of the US. I’ll be contacting you all in a little bit to give you updates on that. We are currently ministering in the Asheville, NC area.
Thank You All and God Bless,
